# Suggest an adoption fee

> What your fee schedule and discounts suggest for one animal, with the reasons. Give `animal_id` for an animal on file, or `species` and `dob_estimate` for one not yet saved; one of the two is required. For an animal not yet saved only its species and age are known, so a discount that needs more does not apply. Discounts come off the matched rule's amount, or off the animal's current fee when no rule matches. Changes nothing. Needs **read** on Animals.
