# Discord

> Ask the rescue from Discord with /rescue, and get your own notifications there as a direct message.

The Discord app is the same bot as the [Slack](/integrations/slack) one, for a rescue whose team talks on a Discord server. Once an admin has added it to your server:

* **`/rescue`** answers from the rescue in any channel of that server, as whoever asks. Only the person who asked sees the answer.
* **Your notifications as a direct message**, for each person who links their Discord account and turns it on.

## Add it to your server

    Open **Settings → Advanced & security → Integrations**. Discord is at the bottom of the page. Only an organization admin can add it.

    Press **Add to Discord**, choose your rescue's server, and press **Authorize**. You need the Manage Server permission there. The bot asks only to send messages.

    You come back to the Integrations page, which names the server. `/rescue` works there straight away.

A server answers for one rescue. If the server is already connected to another rescue on RescueConsole, nothing is added.

## Link your account

Discord does not tell a bot anybody's email address, so it cannot tell who you are at the rescue by itself. Each person links their own account once:

1. Open **My account**. **Discord** appears once the app is in your rescue's server.
2. Press **Link Discord**, and authorize it in Discord. It asks only who you are.

Until you have linked your account, `/rescue` tells you to. **Unlink** forgets the link.

## /rescue

Type `/rescue`, and what you want in its **ask** box. The answers are the same as Slack's, with the same rules about your role: see [/rescue on Slack](/integrations/slack#rescue).

## Your notifications in Discord

On **My account**, once your account is linked, tick **Send my notifications to me in Discord**. It is off until you turn it on. The bot can message you only while you are in the rescue's server and allow direct messages from its members.

## Take it out

Press **Remove from Discord** on the Integrations page. The bot leaves the server and every link is forgotten.

## The demo

The demo cannot add the Discord app: everybody shares its sign-in, and it would put the demo in a real server.
