# Profile & password

> Your own photo, name, phone, time zone, theme, notices, email signature and password, and what your role lets you do.

Press **My account** at the top of any page, or open **Settings** and choose **You**, then **Profile & password**, to change things about your own account. Nothing here changes anybody else's: every member has this page, whatever their role.

## Profile

Your photo, your name and how to reach you.

A photo or an avatar is saved the moment you choose it. Everything else in this section is saved when you press **Save profile**, and the section then says **Saved.**

| Field | What it means |
| ----------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Upload a photo** | A PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF, up to 5 MB. Only people signed in to your organization can see it. Once there is one, the buttons read **Replace photo** and **Remove**. |
| **Or pick an avatar** | Offered while you have no photo: a drawn Dog, Cat, Rabbit, Bird, Fox, Turtle, Paw print or Fish, or **My initials**. A photo, once uploaded, is shown instead. |
| **Prefix**, **First name**, **Last name**, **Suffix** | Your name, as the rest of your team sees it. |
| **Email** | Your email address. It is shown here and cannot be changed on this page. |
| **Country**, **Phone** | Your phone number, and its country calling code. |
| **Time zone** | **Follow the organization**, or a zone of your own. Times you read are shown in this zone. It does not change when scheduled things happen; those follow the organization. |

## Appearance

How the app looks to you: **Match the device**, **Light** or **Dark**. It is remembered on this device straight away, and on your account for the next one.

## Being told about assignments

When somebody assigns you a submission, an application or a task, you are told:

| Choice | What it means |
| --------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **In the app and by email** | The bell at the top of the page shows it, and you are sent an email too. This is where it starts. |
| **In the app only** | The bell shows it. No email. |
| **Not at all** | Neither. |

Your choice is saved the moment you pick it.

## Being asked to review a registry flag

Shown to you when your role has **Change** on Registry. When another rescue submits a flag to the Public Registry, the rescues that may vet it are asked for their review (see [when another rescue asks for your review](/registry/flags#when-another-rescue-asks-for-your-review)). The same three choices say how you are told: **In the app and by email**, where it starts; **In the app only**; or **Not at all**. Your choice is saved the moment you pick it.

## Email signature

Your signature is added to the bottom of the reply box when you answer a message. You can edit or delete it before sending: it is a starting point, not something added afterwards.

Write it as you would a reply, with bold, links and lists. Paste a logo, or add one with the picture button; it is kept inside the message, under about 300 KB. Press **Save signature** to keep it, or **Clear** to empty it and then **Save signature**.

## Change password

| Field | What it means |
| ---------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Current password** | The password you signed in with. |
| **New password** | At least 10 characters. |
| **New password again** | The same new password, to be sure it was typed as meant. |

Press **Change password**. The section says **Password changed.** when it has worked, or *The two new passwords do not match.* if the two new ones differ. Use the new password the next time you sign in.

## My permissions

What your role lets you do, which you can read but not change here. The first line names your role, or roles.

The table has a row for each workspace, and a tick under **See**, **Change** or **Configure** where your roles give it:

| Column | What it means |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **See** | View records in this workspace. |
| **Change** | Add and edit records. |
| **Configure** | Change how the workspace works (custom fields, statuses, fees). |
| **In words** | The same, written out, or **No access**. |

If you need more than your role gives, ask an Organization admin.
