The Medical Tab
Open any animal record and click the Medical tab to see all medical activity for that animal, organized by type. You can add new entries directly from this tab.Vaccines and Treatments
Record each vaccine or treatment with:- The vaccine or treatment name (drawn from your medication list in Settings)
- The date administered
- The dose and route
- A due date for boosters or follow-up doses
Physical Exams
Log physical exams with the examining vet, the exam date, findings, and any notes. Exams appear in the animal’s chronological medical history alongside vaccines and procedures.Procedures and Surgeries
Record surgical procedures—spays, neuters, orthopedic work, dental extractions—with the date, the performing vet, outcome notes, and any follow-up instructions. The spay/neuter status is also captured in a dedicated spay/neuter summary field so it is always visible at a glance.Diagnoses and Diagnostic Tests
Add diagnoses with onset date, resolving status, and notes. Record diagnostic tests—bloodwork, urinalysis, X-rays, cultures—with results and the ordering vet attached.Medication List
The medication list that populates vaccine and treatment entry forms is managed in Settings → Animals → Medications. Add the vaccines, preventatives, and treatments your organization uses so staff select from a consistent list rather than free-typing names. Consistent names make reporting accurate and prevent duplicates.
Scheduling Vet Visits

Open the animal's Medical tab
Navigate to the animal record and click the Medical tab.

Add a vet visit appointment
Click Schedule Vet Visit and enter the date, time, attending vet, and purpose (e.g., spay, recheck, vaccine due).

The visit appears on the calendar
The appointment is added to the organization calendar and is visible to anyone with calendar access, including your vet coordinator.

Finish the visit to record the outcome
When the visit is complete, open the appointment and click Finish Visit. RescueConsole prompts you to enter what happened—findings, treatments given, follow-up needed—and saves that as a new medical record entry on the animal.
Weight History
Record weights from the animal’s Weight tab, and RescueConsole plots them as a chart over the animal’s time in care. Use this to track recovery progress, monitor animals on medical hold, or flag unexpected weight loss during a foster placement.Adding a Medical Record to Many Animals at Once
You don’t have to open each animal record individually to record a routine vaccine or treatment given to a group. From the Animals list:1
Filter to the animals you need
Use the filter rail to narrow the list to the animals that received the treatment—by location, foster, tag, or any other field.

Select the animals
Check the boxes next to the animals, or use Select All to grab the entire filtered result.

Choose the bulk medical action
Open the bulk actions menu and select Add Medical Record. Choose the vaccine or treatment, enter the date and dose, and confirm.

RescueConsole writes the entry to every selected record
Each animal receives a new medical record entry. The entries appear on their individual Medical tabs just as if you had added them one by one.
What Appears on the Medical Tab
Vaccines & Treatments
Every shot and preventative, with the date given, dose, and next due date.
Physical Exams
Wellness and intake exams with the examining vet and findings.
Procedures & Surgeries
Surgical history including spay/neuter, with outcome notes and the performing vet.
Diagnoses
Active and resolved diagnoses with onset date and associated test results.
Diagnostic Tests
Lab work, imaging, and cultures with results attached to the animal’s record.
Scheduled Visits
Upcoming vet appointments that appear on the organization calendar.
