Every person who matters to your rescue — whether they adopted last spring, fostered twice, showed up every Saturday to walk dogs, and donated at year end — lives on a single record in RescueConsole. Roles are not separate record types; they are labels on the same record, and every piece of history those roles generate sits side by side where you can see it all at once.

One record, every role

RescueConsole stores people by identity, not by what they do for you. A single person can hold any combination of the adopter, foster, volunteer, and donor roles simultaneously. Add a role at any time — the history already on the record stays exactly where it is. A tab appears for each role the person holds, showing you what they are doing in that capacity: their placements as a foster, their hours as a volunteer, their gifts as a donor, their adoptions as an adopter. Nothing is buried in a separate workspace.

Structured contact details

People records store names and addresses in structured fields, not a single text block. Address labels adapt to the country you select, so a Canadian province appears where a US state would, and a UK postcode sits where a ZIP code would. You can record several phone numbers and email addresses on one record and mark each with its type. Optional address verification checks that a postal address is deliverable before you rely on it for paperwork or mailings.

Forms become people automatically

When someone submits an adoption application, a foster application, or a volunteer sign-up form through your public site, RescueConsole matches them against the people already on file.

Submission arrives

The completed form lands in your forms inbox with all fields filled in.

Match or create

If someone with the same contact details already exists, RescueConsole links the submission to their record. If not, it offers to create a new one — in one click, nothing retyped.

Role added automatically

The appropriate role (adopter, foster, or volunteer) is added to the person’s record, and the submission is filed there permanently.
No copy-pasting names and addresses from an email into a spreadsheet. The form is the intake.

Finding and importing people

Use the filter rail on the People list to narrow by role, status, tag, or any custom field. Save a filtered view so your volunteer coordinator can open their list without rebuilding the filter every time. When you are moving from a spreadsheet, import your existing people file with column mapping. RescueConsole walks you through matching your column headers to the right fields, including any custom fields you have already configured. Export works the same way in reverse: every field you can see on a person record, including custom fields, goes out as CSV.
Run duplicate detection before you import. RescueConsole checks your import against the people already on file and flags likely matches so you can decide what to merge, rather than discovering duplicates after the fact.

Tags

Add free-form tags to any person record to capture things that do not fit a structured field — a note that someone is a good candidate for a foster mentor role, or that they have a dog-savvy household. Tags are searchable and filterable from the People list.
