The Wish list is what the rescue needs, such as food, medical supplies or a crate for one animal, and a record of what has arrived. How much has arrived is always counted from the deliveries you record, so the figures cannot drift from what actually came in. The page has no row of its own in the sidebar. Type Wish list into the search palette to open it (see Finding your way). Anyone whose role has See on Fundraising can open it. Adding a need, recording a delivery, removing one, and closing or reopening an item need Change on Fundraising. The wish list is for your team. It does not appear on your public site.

Figures

When anything is still needed, a line above the list says the same in words, for example “4 things still needed, about $180.00 of it.”

The list

Urgent items come first, then normal, then low. Within each, the oldest request comes first, so something that has waited six weeks is not buried under today’s. Each item shows its name, its priority, its category and any description, then how much has arrived against how much you asked for (“3 of 10 bags”) with a bar. Beside that it reads either how much is still needed or Enough has arrived. Beneath, where they apply:
  • For and an animal’s name, linking to the animal.
  • Part of and a campaign’s name.
  • The cost of one, as “$12.99 each”.
  • Where to buy it, which opens the link you gave.
  • No longer asking: and your reason, once an item is closed.
An item can be tied to an animal or a campaign only through the API. The Add a need form does not offer either.
Enough has arrived does not close an item. People keep bringing food, so an item stays on the list, still asking, until you press Stop asking. An item can also be closed without ever being met, for example when the animal it was for is adopted.

Filters

The rail beside the list has three groups, each with a count:
  • Status: Still asking or Closed. The list opens on Still asking.
  • Category: Food, Medical, Supplies, Equipment, Enrichment, Other.
  • Priority: Urgent, Normal, Low.
Views, above the filters, keeps filtered lists you come back to. Filter the list, press + Save current view, name it and press Save. Your views are your own.

Adding a need

Press Add a need. Press Add it. The page does not offer a way to change an item’s details or delete it once it is added. To stop asking for one, use Stop asking.

Recording a delivery

Press Open on an item, then Something arrived. Press Record it. Record a delivery only once it has actually arrived: a promise counted as delivered stops the rescue buying something that never came. Under Deliveries, an open item lists every delivery with its quantity, who it was from (Anonymous when nobody is named), the day and the note. Remove takes a delivery off, and the item’s figures are counted again without it.

Stop asking

When you no longer need an item, press Open, then Stop asking. You must say why under Why are you no longer asking for this?, for example “The animal was adopted” or “A vendor donated a pallet”. Press Stop asking again to close it. The item stays on the list, marked closed with your reason, and moves under Closed in the Status filter. Press Ask again on a closed item to reopen it. Its reason is cleared, and every delivery already recorded still counts.
