The Teams app is the same bot as the Slack one, for a rescue whose team works in Microsoft Teams. Once it is connected:
  • Ask it in your own chat with the app: an animal, your tasks, who is on shift, what is waiting. It answers as you.
  • Your notifications, in your chat with the app, for each person who turns it on.

Connect it

Two people may be involved: your Teams admin, who adds the app to your Microsoft 365 organization, and an organization admin at the rescue, who connects it.

Download the package

In RescueConsole, open Settings → Advanced & security → Integrations. Under Microsoft Teams, press Download the Teams package. Only an organization admin can.

Add the app to Teams

In Teams, open Apps, then Manage your apps, then Upload an app, and upload the package. Your organization may only let a Teams admin do this.

Take a code

Back on the Integrations page, press Take a code. It works once, for fifteen minutes.

Send it to the app

In Teams, open a chat with RescueConsole and send connect and the code, for example connect K7QX2MPA. The app says which rescue it now answers for.
A Microsoft 365 organization answers for one rescue.

Ask it

In your chat with the app, send what you want to know: Teams has no way to show a message to one person in a channel, so the app answers only in your own chat with it. Asked anywhere else, it says so. It knows who you are by the email address Teams has for you, which must be the one you sign in to RescueConsole with, and it answers with your own role: see who is asking.

Your notifications in Teams

On My account, tick Send my notifications to me in Microsoft Teams. It is off until you turn it on. The app sends them to your chat with it, so send it a message first (“help” will do) if you never have.

Disconnect

Press Disconnect on the Integrations page. The app stops answering for your rescue and nobody gets notifications there. To remove the app from Teams itself, your Teams admin removes it there.

The demo

The demo cannot be connected to Teams: everybody shares its sign-in, and the app would answer for the demo in a real organization.
